HealthCapsule™ is a special-purpose cloud platform for Health IT. It incorporates Role-based Workflow (RBW), a patented NIST invention that dramatically improves privacy of patient records.
HealthCapsule™ is based on a NASA-sponsored architecture that was adapted for the NIST project. In 2010, HealthCapsule™ is entering an SBIR Phase III stage, in which the testbed is available for additional validation; and the production HealthCapsule™ platform will be made commercially available. As a result, a real-world implementation of the platform and RBW web services library are being piloted at a long-term care facility in Pennsylvania.
